Artist Statement
ARTIST STATEMENT/
Greatly influenced by my childhood suburb, I explore through portraiture how people from homogenous environments individualize and differentiate themselves from each other. Video and photography allow me to broach the themes of identity and individuality with a realist aesthetic and in different guises. It is in a king of uniformity that I sound our body language in search of distinctive signs; the crux of my practice lies in the humility revealed in intimacy.
